When it comes to food truck food options, using local farmers and suppliers is key to delivering a high-quality food offering.
Growing up in a small town, Ivan always had a deep admiration for his grandfather who was a farmer. “I saw how hard my father worked and how proud he was of being a farmer. I think this is why I have always made it a priority to support Canadian farmers – this is how we can keep Canada strong”, says Ivan.
Ask the locals, and they will say that Ivan’s famous poutine have gained so much popularity because of these fresh, local ingredients. “Everything is always hot and so tasty”, says a local, who has been coming to Ivan’s Kitchen for more than 10 years.
Only Ontario hand peeled and cut potatoes are used, and the cheese curds are delivered fresh from Quebec. Bread is made daily by a local Italian bakery, known for its high-quality baked goods. The exact ingredients of the dark, rich and flavorful gravy, however, is a highly guarded secret.
“One reason why I think we have been so successful is that I have simplified what comfort food we offer down to a handful of signature, crowd-pleasing menu options, and in doing so, we have attracted legions of loyal followers”, says Ivan.
A newly revamped look to their food trucks, with sleek pictures and shiny exterior, reflects the continued passion of Ivan to adapt and continually expand his food truck business.
Regular customers know that if you want onion rings or a great hot dog, sausage or burgers, Ivan’s Kitchen is the place to go. And go they do! With now two locations, Ivan’s Kitchen: Food with Mood is ready to serve up flavorful comfort food, with a little laugh sprinkled on the side.
